Melissa Diaz was born September 4, 1989 in Brooklyn, New York. She began performing as a dancer at the age of 5. At 10, she became involved in musical theater. She was always infatuated with TV shows and movies and the processes involved in creating them. By the age of 18, Melissa began performing less and started to get in touch with all aspects of production (lighting, sound, directing, stage management, camera work, writing and acting). To see if her infatuation was just that, infatuation, she fell in love all over again and began dreaming of one day owning her own production company for film and theater alike. At age 28, she is now co-owner of an up and coming production company, Tru Luv Entertainment.

This honor, coupled with an encouraging nod gave her the confidence to pursue acting by accepting a part in one of the later productions of Ms. Fulton’s debut play “One Drop”. Thanks to weekly acting classes at TCA Acting Studio with Ward Nixon, she has become very comfortable in the role and is hoping to take on others. In the meantime, she has learned and been utilized in multiple aspects of stage production. She takes pride in repeatedly assisting with productions in whatever ways she can. She has proven herself invaluable as she steps up to stay on book during rehearsals, will assist the director and the producer, has learned and handled prop mastery, set dressing, costume custody and the supervision of stage hands and production interns. She brings calm under pressure and easily garners the respect and cooperation needed to make a difference in all she does.
